Directions
Dress

HAIR: Hair must be tied up and back (preferably in a hairnet) and securely, in a safe manner to reduce the risk of hair being caught and to prevent scalp injuries. No plaits or pony tails please, which are prone to getting caught and causing injury.

HATS: A jockey skull cap must be worn with no fixed peak, peak type extensions or noticeable protuberances above the eyes or to the front, and should have an even round or elliptical shape with a smooth or slightly abrasive surface, having no peak or peak type extensions. Noticeable protuberances above the eyes or to the front not greater than 5mm, smooth and rounded in nature are permitted. A removable hat cover with a light flexible peak may be used if required. No recording device is permitted (e.g. hat cameras) as they may have a negative effect on the performance of the hat in the event of a fall.

BODY PROTECTOR: Not required but can be worn.

CLOTHING: No hoods on coats or sweatshirts – they can get caught in equipment and cause injury. Long sleeves are essential. Gloves are optional.

FOOTWEAR: Standard riding or jodhpur boots only.

BADGES: No metal badges please – they can get caught in equipment and cause injury.

JEWELLERY: Please remove all necklaces, bracelets, body piercings and pendulous earrings. We recommend the removal of all jewellery. All jewellery can get caught in equipment and cause injury.

WHIPS/SPURS: Not permitted.

TACK: any clips on tack must be taped.

PLEASE CONSULT THE PC Mounted Games Rulebook for full details of rider dress and pony tack. Note that extra rules apply at competitions.

Parking

Please pick up horse droppings in the car park and take them home with you. Please collect any hay from the ground and take it home. Please park sensitively to ground conditions and neighbouring vehicles. There’s plenty of space, so please give your neighbours space. Wet weather parking is on the hill facing downhill to aid departure. Please do not park blocking the water tap and exit to the barn… keep that area clear.

On site Facilities

Toilets available. Horse water available. Drinking water available. Dogs on short leads at all times. Non-riding children must be supervised by parents/guardians at all times. First aid available during the rallies covered by trained SPC volunteers. Please carry your own small first aid kit containing pain relief, anti-sting cream/spray, etc. We cannot administer medication. Please bring suncream and fly spray to late spring/summer rallies.

Additional Details

This rally is being run by a parent volunteer trained in mounted games (Alexis Land). There is no qualified instructor present. Parents must remain on site at all times.

If leading a child, the leader should wear suitable footwear and gloves.
