The ponies will be stabled at camp so the children are responsible for all the duties to look after them such as feeding and mucking out. Experienced help is always on hand and the camp supervisor / instructors will oversee equine welfare and management. Straw bedding is provided but you’ll need to bring your own hay / haylage.
Members will be grouped into rides according to age and experience and will work with different instructors during camp, normally riding twice a day in addition to stable management lessons.
Accommodation is in shared tents / caravans / wagons provided by members, but we can always match people up if you have no one to share with.
Meals will be eaten in a classroom which is our main ‘base’ and used for a number of other activities. We will be going out for tea one evening.
The last day is competition day to which parents / grandparents are invited along to watch and when everyone can win lots of rosettes.
Senior camp is really good fun and teaches children so much about life and responsibilities. Hopefully everyone goes home happy and very tired!
Parents are expected to help cover the evening supervision if members are to stay overnight at camp!
Dress code: shirt, pc tie, jacket, cream jods etc.
PC sweatshirts for stable management.
Casual clothes for the evenings.
