The HH Pony Club has a strong and established tradition of polo, with a big happy squad of players of varied ages.
The HH was one of the original 5 Pony Club branches when Brigadier Jack Gannon and Major Claude Davenport organised five Branch teams to play at the Mons Officer Cadet School, Aldershot on 8th September 1959 (New Forest, Hampshire Hunt, Old Berkshire, Staff College and Bisley participated) so we’ve been in it from the start!
We are very lucky to be able to train at Hampshire Polo School and travel to all the PC tournaments through the year, culminating in the hallowed National Championships, where we won sections this year.
Pony Club Polo is designed for any member to be able to play on one pony.
Any pony can play polo with enough training and all round PC ponies up to 14.2hh, play in sections especially dedicated to non polo ponies.
Pony Club Polo is renowned for having provided the backbone to English polo with many England players having started their careers in Pony Club polo.
