David Merrett Is one of the most experienced coaches in Essex, with a hugely distinguished eventing career, including having competed at Burghley Three Day Event, before becoming involved as the team manager for the national youth Eventing teams and Chairman of the Young Rider Selectors, nurturing some of the most well known eventers riding the professional circuit now. He remains heavily involved in eventing as one of British Eventing’s Technical Advisors and Accredited Trainers and we are delighted to welcome him back to the Branch to encourage and inspire our members.
Just a few housekeeping points, please: • Please arrive promptly for your ride times. Our Instructors coach back-to-back rides throughout the day and if you are running late, the ride will start without you. • Please ensure your tack is clean and safe, ponies also need to be clean and smart, not to Household Cavalry standards as we appreciate spotless turnout is tricky in winter BUT everything should be clean and well-fitted please. • Rally attire must be adhered to, jodhpurs can be either white, beige, navy, black or brown. • Under 10s should wear white shirt, Pony Club tie and sweatshirt. • 10 and over are allowed to wear Pony Club polo shirt with quarter zip. • Long sleeves must be worn •No hoodies please. • Any hair longer than collar length needs to be in a hair net and gloves must be worn by all. • Numnahs should be either white, black, brown or navy. No other coloured numnahs are permitted. • Please plan for all weathers when considering horse/rider and support crew and bring water for your ponies. • Please do clear all hay and droppings from the car park before you leave.
Please enter the level you feel is appropriate to the current ability of rider and horse. Groups will be timed, dependent upon the number of people booking on at that level, with a maximum of five in a group.
This rally is open to all members jumping 60cms and upwards, regardless of age and is intended to help members develop their show jumping technique, working towards tackling courses confidently.
The first session of the day will commence at 10am, with further sessions to follow. Riders will be notified of their time slot two days before the rally and therefore entries will close 4 days before it is to be held.
