Each day will start at 10am with mounted tack and turn out in your rides followed by 2 hours riding. You will then stop for a picnic lunch (please provide this for your child) and organised fun games including the obligatory water fight no matter the weather. After lunch head back to your ride for more ridden and or some stable management lessons till the end of the day which is approximately 4pm. Parents are required to stay onsite at all times. This is a camp full of fun, friendship and learning. A pre-camp letter will be sent out with all the information you will need about what to wear and so on but in the meantime. Your pony must be at least 5 years old and fully vaccinated against Equine Influenza and Tetanus in line with current Pony Club Vaccination rules.
Please ensure your ponies are up to date with worming and all droppings will need to be picked up and taken home as the land is grazed by the Beckley’s ponies.
Junior Camp is held at the Beckley’s home and we are very grateful to them for allowing us to be there.
Please bring your lunch for your child (and pony if required) along with plenty of water (for both).
What to wear Please dress smartly: a hacking jacket with white shirt and pony club tie Pony Club badge and felt on the left lapel.
Beige jods For XC: Body Protectors: The Level 3 blue BETA 2018 standard will be required when riding at any pony club Cross Country, Long sleeves are preferred but as a minimum shoulders must be covered.
We recommend either a long-sleeved shirt/EHNPC skin/EHNPC sweatshirt. Please ensure your hats are tagged with a PINK PC hat tag – if not please let a committee member know.
For Cross Country a skull cap must be worn, fixed peaks are not allowed. Hat silks – plain black, navy, no pom poms! Hair must be neatly secured preferably in a hairnet – long hair must be tied up. Short jodhpur boots, short jodphur boots and chaps or long riding boots in black or brown No jewellery (watch acceptable) Gloves, if worn, brown, black or navy No hooded clothing or PC Sweatshirts for Tack and Turnout.
Ponies should clean and well turned out, in plain tack with dark coloured, plain numnahs, black, brown or navy. If boots are bandages are worn they should be in plain dark colours.
Ponies should be PLAITED! Tack must be well fitted and clean. Remember to check your stirrup irons, there should be 7mm clearance either side of your boots which is about a thumb width. Please see Dress and Tack rules on main PC website www.pcuk.org
Liability: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
Health and Safety: Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
