Due to the continuing rain and subsequent wet ground, we’ve unfortunately had to postpone the intro to endurance rally. As soon as the ground dries up we’ll arrange a new date.

Atherstone Pony Club Intro to Endurance Ride & Badge at Spring Hill Farm. is being organised by Atherstone Hunt Branch of The Pony Club and the booking agent is Equine Bookings

About this Rally

What to expect at this rally…

There will be a brief on foot talk introducing the discipline of endurance to start. Ponies will then receive a quick pre-ride ‘vet check’ where the children will be shown how to correctly walk/trot their pony up and will be able to listen to their pony’s resting heart rate. The group will then ride round an 8km marked field to include walk, trot and some canter – (the assisted group will do a slightly shorter track and just walk and trot so parents can walk/run alongside). After the ride there will be a 10 minute cool down in the arena followed by another ‘vet check’ and heart rates will be taken again. All members will then be given a score using the endurance heart rate/speed formula.

Members will be awarded the Intro to Endurance badge after this session.

1½ hour rally. Group 1 will start at 5pm. Group 2 will start at 6:30pm.

Suitable for all riding abilities.
