Woodhurst Group Riding for the Disabled Association (Registered Charity 1164390) and the Fitzwilliam Branch of the Pony Club A popular and fun pleasure ride on the beautiful estate of Abbots Ripton with the kind permission of Lord and Lady De Ramsey.

Terms and Conditions

The Ride

All riders will be allocated a number. Please check Horse events for your number after Friday 16 May, download your number and print it. Make sure it is clearly visible on your front and back when riding.

Please ensure that you arrive at the event in good time to commence your ride at the allotted time.

All riders must report to the stewards on arrival, check in at appropriate points on the ride and on completion of the ride.

No dogs, walkers or cyclists except for one adult accompanying a child on lead-rein

The route will be clearly signed.

Map will be uploaded to horse-events two weeks before the ride.

A photographer will be covering the event and taking photographs of all riders.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Please ensure you read these Conditions of Entry – by entering the event you have agreed to abide by these Rules

  1. Health & Safety – Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
  2. Legal Liability – Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
  3. The organisers reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any class and reserve the right to disqualify anyone for the misuse of whip or spurs, dangerous riding or any horse in poor or lame condition. and to refuse any entry for any reason and at their sole discretion.
  4. Non-Pony Club riders are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third-party cover. The Fitzwilliam Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-Members and non-members will not be covered by their insurance.
  5. Safety Rules – Failure to comply with safety rules will result in elimination
  6. Photography– By entry to this competition all riders agree to being photographed by the Official Photographer
  7. Hats of all riders must conform to Pony Club regulations – details can be found in the PC H&S Rule book 2023 (page 23) which can be downloaded at https://pcuk.org/health-safety and must be tagged with the joint British Eventing, Riding Clubs and Pony Club PINK tag. Please note that from the 1st January 2023, the following hat standards are no longer accepted – PAS O15 1998 and SNELL 2001.   Hats must be worn with chinstrap fastened at all times when mounted. Hats will be checked and tagged when you arrive at the event.
  8. Suitable footwear must be worn at all times.
  9. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  10. There will be first-aid attendants, however riders participate entirely at their own risk.

Good riding manners are requested at all times. Please be cautious when overtaking others as they may be novice riders, or on young horses.   Riders should take note of ground conditions and ride at an appropriate speed to mitigate the risk of slipping, falling or losing control of their horse/pony.
