No combination of horse and rider who has competed in the Area Novice Eventing or qualified as an individual for the Novice Eventing Championships.
Up to approx 70cm (the course will include L fences for most difficult jumps, with a 15 point penalty} XC course not timed.

Entry information
Each Branch may enter three teams, but additional teams may be accepted at the discretion of the Organisers. Combinations may compete only once.
Riders may compete no more than twice. Branches will need to provide 2 fence judges for XC.
Entry fees : £50 per individual – times to be posted on Pony Club results on Friday 27 September. XC course open to walk from 2pm on Saturday 28 September.
Competition Format
The Peter Hoblyn competition is for TEAMS OF FOUR members of a Cornish Pony Club (including clubs which are partly in Cornwall).
The Zena Hosking competition is run along similar lines to the Peter Hoblyn competition and is for TEAMS OF FOUR members of a Cornish Pony Club (including clubs which are partly in Cornwall), all of whom are 21 years for Peter
Hoblyn and 16 years of age for Zena Hosking, on 1st January 2024.
The competition consists of three phases:
a) Tack and Turnout
b) Dressage The PC90 Eventing 2013 Test for Peter Hoblyn; Preliminary PC70
Dressage Test 2022 for Zena Hosking)
c) Cross Country (Fences up to approx. 0.90m for the Peter Hoblyn; up to approx.
0.70m for the Zena Hosking (The course will include L fences for the most difficult jumps, with a 15-point penalty).
Prizes & Prize Giving
A Challenge Cup will be presented to the Winning Team of both competitions.
Team rosettes to 4th place.
Team “Tack and Turnout” rosettes will be awarded to 4th place – all scores to count.
Individual rosettes in each section to 6th place.
A Special Rosette will be awarded to the Best Competitor under 12 years of age in each section and best competitor in each section who has not been in any area teams.

Additional Details
TACK AND TURNOUT (both competitions)
Horse and Rider should be turned out ready to enter the Dressage Arena in accordance with The Pony Club Eventing rules. Tack must be clean and well fitted to ensure the comfort of the pony and safety of the rider. Ponies must be well
shod. Penalty marks will be given if shoes are badly worn, loose or have risen clenches. The emphasis will be upon safety, the welfare of the pony and general pride in turnout.
DRESSAGE AND CROSS-COUNTRY PHASES
The rules for both of these phases will be as written in the current Pony Club Eventing Rule Book. Peter Hoblyn cross-country phase will be timed.
SCORING
The total team score will be calculated by adding together: combined tack and turnout, dressage and cross-country scores for the 3 best team members.
