About this Event

(FOR MEMBERS OF THE PONY CLUB AREA 6 ONLY) This event will run under the Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2024 which includes several significant changes. Please ensure you are aware of these before you compete. Read the rule book here: https://pcuk.org/sports/show-jumping/

PC90,PC100 & PC110 will jump two separate rounds and will have a jump off in the event of equality for first place.

PC70, PC70 plus and PC80 will jump two rounds with the second round run as a single phase.

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel 50% of your entry fee will be refunded, minus any Booking fees.

Entry information

Pre-entries only

Entries for all classes will only be accepted from one email address, either the official branch/centre email address e.g. branch@pcuk.org or a branch/centre appointed team manager email address.

NO entries from individual members themselves will be permitted. Pony Club Branch/Centres will be required to submit membership numbers to enter a class.

All classes are £30 per combination (to include first aid contribution) plus a non-refundable booking fee set by Horse-Events.

NEW FOR 2024 – COMBINATIONS (horse and rider) can compete at two adjacent heights: PC70 + PC80, PC90 + PC100 OR PC100 + PC110. Please Note – Combinations CANNOT enter PC80 + PC90.

Please enter as individuals stating the name of your Branch/Centre. All team members will also be judged as individuals.   1.   Teams to be made up of 3 or 4 combinations: best three scores to count. Classes 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6 – Individuals will be put into Combined Teams where possible.

Each Branch or Centre is responsible for replacing fallen poles whilst their members compete.

DCs/Team Managers/Centre Proprietors MUST read the following:

– All DCs/Team Managers/Centre Proprietors MUST sign off that any competitor representing their Branch has a valid Vaccination record as per The Pony Club Vaccination Rule 2024. Failure to do so could result in elimination from the competition, and no place at the Championships.

– All combinations must have genuinely participated at a minimum of three Qualifying Rallies/Coaching/Training Sessions of this or their previous Branch or Centre since 1st July in the previous year, one of which must have been in the current calendar year.

– All competitors must be aware of rule changes in 2024, specifically the new hat, whip and stirrup rule. They must be turned out correctly with hats tagged and body protectors (if used) to the required standard. Please note medical cover is included in the cost of entry for this event.

PC90,PC100 & PC110 will jump two separate rounds and will have a jump off in the event of equality for first place.

PC70, PC70 plus and PC80 will jump two rounds with the second round run as a single phase.

EDIT ENTRY

If you would like to edit your horse or rider details move classes or cancel your entry before the closing date of the event, please login to your Horse Events account and edit your booking under the ‘EDIT ENTRY’ Tab.

For ALL changes of horse and rider substitutions after the closing date there is a £5 charge.

Rules
  1. PASSPORTS: horses/ponies will not be allowed to compete without their passport with valid flu vaccinations. Please contact your DC or Team manager who needs to sign off that your horse/pony is compliant with the Pony Club vaccination rule 2024. THERE WILL BE SPOT CHECKS ON THE DAY. A horse with a non-compliant passport will NOT be allowed to compete and there will be no refund of entry.
  2. NUMBERS: rider numbers must be printed out by each competitor – if wearing a number bib please wear front and back. If the number is to be put on the saddlecloth – please do A5 size and wear both sides. If the number is to be worn on the back of the rider, then please print at least A5 size. Numbers to be printed/written as large as possible in dark ink please.
  3. Teams to be made up of 3 or 4 combinations: best three scores to count.

Class 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 – 

If a Branch/Centre has a Member/Members who are entered as individuals at the Area competition and not included in a Branch/Centre team, they may combine with one or more other Branch/Centre Members 

to form a team at the Area Competition. This team shall be eligible to qualify for the Championships. Should an Area Team qualify for the 

Championships, then the next placed eligible Branch/Centre Team shall also qualify. These teams can only be put together by the Area 

Representative and/or Area

4. Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry, alter the order of the classes, cancel classes, and/or limit entries.

5. Closing date for entries – 5th July 2024. If a Branch or Centre withdraws a team or individual prior to the closing date of entries for the competition, a full refund will be given, less an administration charge of £5. Withdrawals after the closing date of entries for the competition will not be refunded. 

6.In the event of the competition being abandoned, for whatever reason, a refund of 50% of the entry fee will be given. 

7. Times and Drawn orders will be published by 11.07.2024 on Pony Club results.

8.Competitor numbers MUST always be visible whilst mounted.                                                

9. Stallions are allowed with prior permission from the Organiser; any stallion ridden by a Pony Club member must have written permission from their DC/Centre Proprietor which must be sent to Amy Baylis at Brocklesby@pcuk.org prior to the show day by 07/07/2024. Stallions must wear stallion discs and ribbons.  

10. All horse/ponies must be at least 5 years old on day of competition.  

11.Turnout for ALL Pony Club members and horses should be as in the Pony Club Rules for Show-jumping 2024.

12.SPURS: ALL spurs worn anywhere on the showground, by any competitor, must comply with Pony Club rules. Misuse of spurs by any competitor will be recorded and reported and may result in disqualification from the competition.  

13.Any abuse of horses/ponies, officials, other competitors, or members of the public will not be tolerated and those found doing so will be asked to leave the venue with no compensation and may be reported to the relevant authority.  

14.The Judge’s decision is final. Any objection must be handed to the Day Secretary in writing with a £30 deposit (which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld) within 15 minutes of the incident and BEFORE the end of that class.  

15.PHOTOGRAPHS: by entering this competition you are agreeing to be photographed whilst competing; these photographs may be used for future publicity.  

16.Participants attend at their own risk; neither the Organisers nor Epworth showground will be liable for any loss, damage or accident to horses, riders, property, or other persons.  

17. No horses/ponies may be left tied to the outside of trailers/lorries without supervision. Please clear any muck/rubbish and do not leave on the field/lorry park. Please park cars as directed – not by the lorries. 

18. NO dogs allowed on-site.  

19. The show will be run under The Pony Club Show jumping Rules 2024. Rules available on the main Pony Club website.

Qualifiers

Prize giving will be unmounted

Rosettes: Individuals to 8th Place. Teams to 6th Place.

Classes 4,5,6 will be Qualifiers for the JCB Pony Club Championships 2024 to be held at Offchurch Bury, Warwickshire, 13-16th August 2024 (exact date for Show jumping to be confirmed).

Classes 1,2,3 will be a Qualifier for the 2024 Pony Club Regional Championships at Aston Le Walls, 24-25th August.

Entries are only accepted on this basis.
