Rules
1. This event is run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2024 https://pcuk.org/sports/eventing/
2. Open to all Pony Club branches and centres
3. Rider’s age as of 1 January 2024
4. All horses/ponies must be aged 5 or older
5. Combination of horse/pony and rider may only compete in one class
6. No horse/pony may compete more than twice
7. The judge’s decision is final
8. Only the competitor may ride the horse/pony on the day at the event
9. All competitors must wear a protective hat to the minimum
Standard listed in the Pony Club Hat Rule 2024 at all times when mounted
with the chin strap fastened. All hats must be tagged with a Pink Pony
Club, Riding Club or BE hat tag. Tagging will be available on the day.
10. Body Protectors are compulsory for the cross-country phase and must meet BETA 2018 Level 3 Standard (blue and black label). Competitors wearing air jackets must wear a conventional body protector underneath
11. No stopwatches or recording devices (eg bridle camera) permitted
(other than use by officials)
12. Whips – must meet new whip rule for type, size and use (see Rule Book)
13. Dressage tests may be commanded
14. Eliminated competitors may continue on the XC course but must give way immediately to other riders and must leave the course if asked to do so by a fence judge or official
15. All horses/ponies must be compliant with the current Pony Club minimum
vaccination requirements (spot checks may be done)
16. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, amalgamate or change any class
17. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify anyone for misuse of whip
or spurs, dangerous riding or any horse or pony in poor or lame condition
18. Objections submitted in writing with £25 deposit within 10 minutes of class
19. Children 16 years and under, and horses/ponies of any age, must not
be left unattended. Horses/ponies must never be left unsupervised tied
to the outside of trailers and lorries
20. The Organiser’s decision is final.
Health and Safety Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
Legal Liability Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or their tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
