Open to in hand Mountain & Moorland registered breeds. Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh Sections A B C and D. Stallion, mare, filly or gelding any age (no mares with foals at foot). Handler any age (except for stallions and colts).

Open to in hand piebald, skewbald, dun, palomino, roan. Stallion, mare, or gelding. Horses and ponies 4 years and over. Handlers any age (except for stallions).

Horses and ponies 15 years or over. Handler any age. Oldest combination of horse/pony and handler to receive a special rosette.

To be stabled within 20-mile radius of the showground. To be judged on manners and condition.

16 years and under. Rosette for best child handler 10 years and under.

Class 9: Home Produced In Hand Horse or Pony
£8.00 + non-refundable booking fee (charged per event).

Any height or type. Horse or pony must be stabled at home and not to have been shown/produced or stabled at a producer’s yard. Horses/ponies must be produced and shown by the owner/spouse or his/her immediate family.

Class 11: Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein (Equifest)
£8.00 + non-refundable booking fee (charged per event).

Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh Sections A and B. Mare or gelding 4 years and over not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Lead rein to be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh Sections A and B. Mare or gelding 4 years and over not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

Skewbald, piebald, dun, palomino, roan. Horses and ponies 4 years and over. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride. This is a qualifier for Equifest ridden piebald and skewbalds.

Skewbald, piebald, dun, palomino, roan. Horses and ponies 4 years and over. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride.

Horse and ponies 4 years and over not exceeding 148cms. Riders any age but suitably sized for the height of the pony.

Class 18: Mixed Height Part Breds (Equifest)
£8.00 + non-refundable booking fee (charged per event).

Horse and ponies must be eligible for or registered with appropriate Part Breed Society. Stallion, mare, or gelding 4 years and over. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride.

Class 19: Mixed Height Equifest Nuprafeed Ridden Cobs (Equifest)
£8.00 + non-refundable booking fee (charged per event).

Mare or gelding 4 years and over. Only show cobs exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 155cms qualify for Equifest. Riders any age. Open to hogged show and traditional cobs.

Stallion, mare or gelding 15 years and over. Any type or breed. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride.

Open riding horse or hunter, mare or gelding 4 years and over, any height that has been home produced. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride.

Rider any age residing within 20 miles of the showground. To be judged on manners and performance. Riders any age but must be suitably mounted for the animal they ride.

First, second and third placed horses/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for the Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at Onley Equestrian Centre, Rugby, Warwickshire on 24th and 25th August 2024.

Class 28: Ridden Concours d’Elegance
£8.00 + non-refundable booking fee (charged per event).

Refund, Withdrawals & Entry Changes

No refunds at any time.

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel no entries will be refunded.

“This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire on the 1st – 4th August 2024. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.”

Equifest qualifiers open to all.

Terms and Conditions

LIGHT HORSE AND PONY SHOW RULES

1. The judge’s decision is final.

2. Classes will be divided at the discretion of the judge.

3. INSURANCE: Gorefield Show Committee cannot accept liability howsoever caused by an individual, animal, or vehicle. Gorefield Show Committee strongly advises all participants/riders to have up to date third-party insurance providing full coverage in all events, equestrain or otherwise, and for all vehicles.

4. Any objection must be made within 15 minutes of the end of the class, in writing and accompanied by £20,00, returnable if the objection is upheld.

5. When mounted on the show ground competitors must wear correct riding clothes, hard hats to the approved B.S.I Standard of 2024.

6. No riders under 3 years of age.

7. No rider may carry, use, or permit to be used, a whip exceeding 30″ in length.

8. Age as of 1st January 2024.

9. Classes will not be held up on the day.

10. The Committee would appreciate entries before the close of the previous class.

11. Horses and ponies are not allowed to be ridden other than at WALK except in the rings and working in area.

12. No lunging due to limited space and health and safety regulations.

13. No refunds will be given.

14. Small breed ridden stallions not exceeding 138cms riders must be 12 years and over. Large breed ridden stallions riders must be 14 years and over.

15. A deposit of £20.00 per competitor to be paid before collection of trophies.

16. Dogs MUST be kept on short leads at all times.

17. The committee reserves the right to make changes to scheduled classes without prior notice.

18. Short, dark, waterproof jackets only can be worn in the ring in wet conditions.

19. No trotting or cantering down the main thoroughfare as this is a danger to the public.

20. Stallions/colts must be led by competitors 14 years or over at all times.

21. Please don’t skip out lorries/trailers on the show ground.

22. All online entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee which will be stated online on a per class basis.

23. If you would like to edit your horse or rider details before the closing date of the event, please login to your Horse Events account and edit your booking under the ‘MY BOOKING’ tab. If you would like to change the class, please email info@horse-events.co.uk and if there is space available, we will do this for you. For ALL changes of horse and rider substitutions after the closing date there is a £5.00 charge, please fill out the following form online at: https:www.horse-events.co.uk/rider-horse-substitutions-form/
