In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded in full minus any booking fees

~ In the Ainslie’s yard/ field, with extra spaces on the roadside near Glenmayne House on Abbotsford Road (the back road into Galashiels).
~ If the weather is dry there will be plenty of parking in the grass field, as well as in the yard.
~ Horses must not be left tied to horse boxes/ trailers unattended, due to the risk of an accident on the road.
~ Dogs are permitted on the course but MUST be on a lead. We strongly recommend that they should not be left unattended in horse boxes/ vehicles.
~ An adult must sign for any rider under the age of 18 years and remains completely responsible for their safety and actions at all times.
~ The minimum age for riders is 4 years of age.
~ All children 13 years of age or below must be escorted by an adult aged 18 years or over on a horse or lead on foot. If the escorting adult is unable to attend or complete the route, the children must also retire at this point, unless alternative arrangements with a responsible adult can be made, organisers on-site must be notified of the change in guardianship.
~ Children aged 14-17 years may complete the route on their own. The adult must remain in the lorry park and in the case of an emergency be contactable at all times.
~ All riders must wear a hard hat that is correctly fastened to the current approved safety standards, when mounted. All riders under 18 years are strongly advised to wear appropriate body protection.
~ Whilst every care has been taken by the organising committee and relevant landowners in facilitating this access to exercise, the committee and landowners will not be responsible for any injury to dogs, horses or any person taking part in any way whatsoever, nor liable for any damage resulting from any acts or commissions of any participants or spectators.
~ All riders must have full control of their horse and be appropriately skilled to ride and handle horses in a safe and sensible manner. Please ensure that both rider and mount are suitable and competent for this ride. The minimum age for horses and ponies is 4 years.
~ It is the responsibility of those taking part, or their legal guardians in the case of minors to ensure that participants have appropriate and adequate insurance cover for personal injury and third-party liability cover and that they take all reasonable steps to ensure safe participation and respect others whilst exercising.
~ Riders must follow all instructions given to them at the start of the event, by any Steward, First Aider or Vet.
~ PLEASE follow all directional route and safety signage. At all times riders must only follow the marked route and in the direction indicated, not to go off route onto crops or ground not included within the fun ride.
~ A First Aider will be on call to administer first aid treatment to the best of their ability prior to the arrival of the ambulance, if required.
~ Riders with underlying health conditions must notify organisers of these and also wear the respective medical armband for their condition.
~ Overtaking is permitted. Please calmly alert those ahead of you of your intention. Please await an affirmative response before proceeding.
~ A selection of optional jumps will be made available for use around the route. Fences may only be jumped in the direction of the signed route.
~ Riders must be suitably skilled to jump the fences, and only tackle those within you and your horse’s capability. Only one horse at a time to jump a fence, NOT to jump abreast of each other.
~ Consider other horses and riders at all times.
~ Horse vaccinations need to be up to date and horses must not have shown any signs of recent ill health.
~ Refreshments will be provided on-site within the entry fee.
~ There will be no toilet facilities provided for this event.
~ On arrival all riders must report to the starter (mounted) to: check in, take note of any safety information and ensure that they have the event organisers emergency contact number.
~ All independent riders should carry a charged mobile phone and we recommend that all riders have the what3words app.

Pony Club members will have third-party insurance if they are fully paid up members, adult riders will also require appropriate and current Public Liability insurance cover.
