About this Event

One Day Event open to all Pony Club and non Pony Club members and adults. Professionally designed and built showjumping and cross country courses over undulating farmland close to Oakham, Rutland. Classes range from 60cms to 100cms.

This event is a Qualifier for the Horse Events National Unaffiliated Championships

XC Course Designer and Ground Preparation : Mr Guy Herbert

Ground will be treated by a BE Equivator as necessary

Open to Pony Club and Non Pony Club members aged 12 and under on 1st January 2025.
Showjumping and Cross Country courses will be very kind, straight-forward and designed to give younger riders an encouraging first eventing experience. Cross country will take place in one field only.

Before the closing date please login to your Horse Events Account and cancel your entry. To withdraw after the closing date please contact the event Organiser joannasawyer51@gmail.com

Refunds

Withdrawals and Refunds – Close of Entries Monday 26th May 2025

Withdrawals before close of entries – If an individual is withdrawn prior to the Closing Date, a full refund of entry fees will be made less an administration charge (£10 per individual) and booking fee (£2 per individual).

Withdrawal after close of entries– No refund will be given.

Event Cancelled by Organiser

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel 50% of your entry fee will be refunded, minus any Booking fees.

Entry information

Rider and Horse amendments can be made online by logging into your Horse Events account under My Bookings.  You can edit your details here up until close of entries.

If you need to Edit Horse or Rider, Cancel an entry or Change a Class before the closing date

Substitutions may only be made after the closing date as per PC Eventing Rules 2025.  For ALL changes/substitutions of horse and rider after the closing date there is a £10 charge.  Please fill out the following form online at https://www.horse-events.co.uk/rider-horse-substitutions-form/

Terms and Conditions

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. This Horse Trials will be run in accordance with Pony Club Eventing Rules 2025. All rules are available at https://pcuk.org/officials/rulebooks/
  2. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
  3. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
  4. Safety Rules – Failure to comply with safety rules will result in elimination.
  5. Non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Cottesmore Branch of the Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non PC Members and their insurance will not cover them.
  6. Photography– By entry to this competition, competitors agree to being photographed by the Official Photographer and give permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons or horses/ponies taking part in Pony Club activities to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony Club. It should be understood that The Pony Club will select photographs/ footage for publication with care and respect for those shown.
  7. Hats of all competitors must conform to Pony Club regulations – see Pony Club Eventing Rule Book 2025 – and MUST be tagged with the official PINK Pony Club tag (tags will be available at the venue). Hats must be worn with the chinstrap fastened at all times when mounted.
  8. Body Protector – All competitors must wear a body protector that meets BETA 2018 Level 3 – see Pony Club Eventing Rule Book 2025.
  9. Spurs – Please note there are new rules relating to the wearing of spurs. Please see Pony Club Eventing Rule Book 2025.
  10. Saddlery/Equipment –Please see Pony Club Eventing Rule Book 2025.
  11. The organisers reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any class and reserve the right to disqualify anyone for misuse of the whip or spurs, dangerous riding or any horse in poor or lame condition. and to refuse any entry for any reason and at their sole discretion.
  12. The Judges decisions are final. Queries may only be raised via the Secretary.  Protests/objections will be managed as per the Pony Club Eventing Rulebook 2025.
  13. No horse will be allowed to compete in more than one class.
  14. A valid passport and vaccination record must accompany the horse/pony to this event and must be available for inspection if required by event officials. Vaccinations must be in accordance with the Pony Club Eventing Rulebook 2025. Spot checks will be carried out.
