In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded minus an admin fee of [admin-fee] per horse and rider combination (Booking fees are non refundable)

Entries
• Hunter Trial Classes enter at: www.horse-events.co.uk
• Hunter Trial Entries close Wednesday 16th October
• No late entries, no transfer of classes accepted after the closing date

Penalties
• 1st refusal – 20 penalties 2nd refusal – 40 penalties 3rd refusal – Elimination Jumping an “L” fence – 15 penalties Stepping back in front of an obstacle will be classed as a refusal
• A horse crossing its own tracks between parts of a combination fence (e.g. A and B) will be scored as having refused
• A horse which knocks a flag or a post over will not be penalised if the horse’s shoulders pass the correct side of the flag.
Fall of Horse or Rider and Elimination
• Any fall of horse on any part of the course, (or horse trapped on an obstacle), will incur elimination
The competitor must leave the course immediately
• An unseated rider incurs 65 penalties. The rider may remount and continue if the Judge is satisfied that he or she is fit to do so. If the Judge believes that the rider is not sufficiently fit, he or she will be eliminated and must leave the course immediately
• At the Judge’s discretion, competitors who are eliminated may continue around the course, providing that they give way and do not obstruct any other competitor. However the Fence Judges have the authority to request that the competitor leaves the course at any time. MISUSE OF THE WHIP or DANGEROUS RIDING are examples for which such a request may be made

Pairs
• Competitors will be judged on their ability to jump side by side over fences which have been marked as
“Dressing Fences” on the Course Plan. Penalties will range from zero for a perfectly synchronised jump, to 5 penalties when the two competitors are several horse lengths apart. The scoring for the dressing of fences will be prioritised over the pairs’ overall time taken around the course
Dress
• Jockey skull caps to B.E. or Pony Club current standards with a flexible peak, fastened at all times when mounted
• Back protectors to B.E. or Pony Club current standards
• Medical Armbands may be worn
• The wearing of head cameras or stop watches will NOT be permitted on the course
• Whips which conform to Pony Club and British Eventing standards only and used in accordance with their rules. Please check with the rulebooks of those organisations if necessary.
• B.E. style bibs to be supplied by riders with printed numbers inserted.

They must be clear and readable at a distance.

1. The Judge’s decision is final.
2. No horse or pony may be ridden more than once in a class.
3. The event is organised by and on behalf of The Puckeridge and Essex Hunt. Neither The Puckeridge
and Essex Hunt, nor any person acting on their behalf accept liability for any loss, damage, accident,
illness affecting any person, animal or property, whether caused by negligence, Breach of Contract,
Breach of Trust or in any other way whatsoever.
4. It should be considered a condition of entry that each competitor and spectator shall indemnify the
organisers or any person acting on their behalf against legal action arising from accident or incident.
5. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of
everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to
avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instruction of the organisers, officials and
stewards.
6. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
7. All veterinary expenses incurred on the day must be paid directly to Tyrrells Equine Clinic.
