• 6 Rounds of Mini questions that will be based on the Care and Riding sections of the E, D and D+ Pony Club Tests and Mini Horsemanship Achievement Badges.
•Format will include questions based rounds, activity games, identification games and word games.
•Teams will move around the venue, each round will be on a different section of the quiz. Further details about the National Quiz format and sample questions can be found here: https://pcuk.org/dh-quiz/
Times: Dependent on entries, starting at 10am and will either run concurrently or consecutively, more information will be provided once entries are in but it is unlikely it will run past 3pm.

Refund, Withdrawals & Entry Changes
Withdrawal Date: 02/03/2025
All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee which will be stated online. Withdrawals may be made prior to the close of entries and refunded minus £5 admin fee per team to cover expenses incurred. Withdrawals after the closing date will not be refunded.
In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel 50% of your entry fee will be refunded, minus any Booking fees.

Entry information
Ages will be taken from the 1st January of the competition year (2025). All participants must be current Pony Club Members. Centres and branches will compete in the same sections.
Entry fee: £40 per team plus booking fee. Clubs may enter more than 1 team in each Section.

All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee which will be stated online. In the event the competition is abandoned for whatever reason a refund of 50% of the entry fee will be given. Booking fees are non-refundable. The following information will be needed when making entries: PC membership number, member name, member DOB, Pony Club Branch or Centre, Team contact name & phone number.

Mini Section – Teams to consist of four members. Ages to be 10 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year with one member to be 8 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year.
Junior/Senior Section – Teams to consist of four members. Teams must have two Junior members who are 14 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year and two members of any age up to 25 years on the 1st January of the competition year.
The competition consists of two classes, a mini section and a junior/senior section. Competitors may only compete in one section, they may not compete in multiple teams.
Area Teams must be either all Branch members, or all Centre members. If a Branch has a Member/s who are not included in a team, they may combine with one or more Branches in a similar situation to form a Quiz team to compete at the Area Competition. If a Centre has a Member/s who are not included in a team, they may combine with one or more Centres in a similar situation to form a team to compete at the Area Competition.

Prizes & Prize Giving
Prizes: Highest placed Centre and Branch teams from each section at Area qualifiers will be invited to the Quiz Final which will take place on 4th May 2025 at Sheffield Wednesday Football Stadium. Team rosettes 1st to 6th place in both classes. Branches and Centres will not be placed separately.
Qualifiers
Substitutions – Substitutions must be made before the start of the competition. One original Area Qualifying member must compete at the National Final, unless extenuating circumstances can be presented to the organiser through the quiz@pcuk.org email address up to the start of the competition. Each team can request up to two substitutions, where a replacement eligible member may be entered if an original member is not available to compete.
Volunteers
Volunteers: EACH participating team MUST provide at least 1 adult to support the delivery of the quiz. No prior knowledge required, and all information will be provided on the day. This is to assist on a table for one round of the quiz. Suitable for parents.
Dress
What to wear: Competitors should dress in an appropriate manner suitable for representing their Branch or Centre
• Pony Club sweatshirt/polo shirt/gilet/jumper
• Comfortable trousers/jodhpurs and sensible footwear
Photographic Rights
by entering this competition, competitors and their guardians give permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons taking part this event to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony Club.
Additional Details
Refreshments: There will be parking and toilets. Refreshments offered will be tea, coffee, squash and cakes.
Terms and Conditions
Health & Safety – The Organisers of this event have taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, we ask everyone present to take every reasonable precaution to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must adhere to the instructions of the stewards. The Landowners, Organising Committee and Officials will not be responsible for any accidents or damage to persons or property arising from any cause whatsoever connected to this competition. Persons attending do so at their own risk.
